DonateWell is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 46-0942102) that sponsors a national donor-advised fund​​ (DAF) which partners with creative social enterprises that are exploring new ways to create and inspire new philanthropy. We employ sophisticated APIs and flexible processes to help our partners empower giving in many ways. We provide a centralized account for our donors to manage their giving and handle all disbursements to eligible charities.

  • David Barach Chair / President

    David Barach is the CEO of Good Done Great, a company that delivers software solutions for Corporate Social Responsibility. A second time entrepreneur, David is committed to effecting social change though the power of business.

    With a BA in film and MA in creative writing from Johns Hopkins, David brings his artistic and impactful aesthetic to developing emotionally engaging and compelling products for givers; whether they are institutional, corporate, or individuals. He has led product, operations and partner/user engagement teams.

  • Joe Lawless Treasurer

    Joe Lawless is Executive Director of the Center for Leadership & Social Responsibility in the Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma. He currently teaches Board Governance and Leadership courses in the Milgard School, and has over 25 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector and specifically in philanthropy.

    As Executive Director of the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation, Joe managed every aspect of a fundraising operation that generated over $12 million annually. Joe holds a bachelor’s degree from Seattle University and an MBA from the University of Washington Tacoma.

  • John Power Secretary

    John Power is a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch in Tacoma, Washington. John’s interest in socially responsible investing led him to being a part of this board. John graduated from the University of Portland with a BS in Political Science and received his Masters in International Relations from the Maxwell School at The University of Syracuse.

    John is committed to the local nonprofit community and also is on the Board of Alumni at Bellarmine Preparatory School and is also a Member of the Board for The Job Carr Cabin Museum.
